Gail W McMicheal
Born July 23, 1953
Took Advance art classes during my Teens
When to C.S.U. to gain a commercial artist degree in Cartooning but abandon it as the newspapers start to drop cartooning from their daily papers. During this time I was able to make walking around money doing nudes, finding a nice stable of women willing to posing allowing me to study the human forums of the girls. Exploring acrylic, painting in surrealism, pop arts, and pen and ink. Continuing to work on doing line art (coming out of cartooning art), where at that time it was to express as much as you can, using the least amount of lines.
Later attended O.S.U. to learn Zoology, and now continue to stick my nose in studies field of Anthropology, and archaeology learning about new finds and theories. During this time in the 90s, I spend time learning computer programming and creating games. I also got interested in doing text role-playing and drawing and painting the people that I created in those worlds. 2003 I lost everything to a great wildfire in this area. Lost all the artwork I had created that I didn't sell or give away. Spent the next few years cleaning up and rebuilding, and it was some time before I got back to doing art again. I started back by doing 3-d with the program called "Pose" and had a problem trying to learn it.
Later, I manage to find a free program that changes everything. It is called “Bender” and can be found on the internet. It opens up the world of 3-d for me. I quickly pick up the ability on making 3-d items. With what I learned by using Bender, I was able to create my own “artist Mannequin”, allowing me to have my forums of models without having to have real Models posing for me or having to take their pictures to get the poses I desire and needed.
My first art teacher told me drawing was the ability to draw with your hands, what you see with your eyes. I wanted to do more than 2-d art and by learning to 3-d build I was finally able to see what I want to do in a 3-d forum, and now it is just working to improve my abilities to have that eye and hand coordination. I higher recommend anybody wanting to do figure drawing spend a year learning 3-d artwork.
